The FIREd by 50 Plug and Play Culture framework

FIREd by 50 is a plug and play culture framework that helps employers turn the culture they want into the way they actually recruit, retain, and develop people. Instead of starting from scratch, you plug the framework into the processes you already have, including onboarding, communication, leadership, employee engagement, and continuous improvement, and use simple tools to make those processes work together. It is practical, repeatable, and designed to fit the way your business already operates. You bring the people and the business. FIREd by 50 provides the framework.

Communication

Career Progression

Compound Interest

Everyone wants to be heard. Onboard to a culture of communication so everyone knows they matter. This needs to happen on each project, for everyone, including subcontractors.

Compound Interest

Teach your employees the power of compound interest to help reduce their financial stress. They can see how staying invested and staying employed can create financial independence over time. They will also know you care about them as a person.

Going to work every day isn't always fun. When you know where your work is taking you, it's much better. Career progression gives people purpose.

The FIREd by 50 Culture Handbook

A Day 1 Guide to Your Company Culture

Most companies have an employee handbook. Personally, I don't recall ever being given one or reading it. I have definitely never seen a Culture Handbook.

That's not to say that some of my employers didn't have a good culture. They just didn't have a great way of showing me that they actually cared about me as a person.

The FIREd by 50 Culture Handbook gives new hires something practical on Day 1 that explains the job, the expectations, the culture, and the opportunity in front of them.

Pin the Roses

Culture doesn't improve because you wrote it down. Someone has to own it.

1. The Program Manager: Who is responsible for keeping this program on track?

2. The Spark: A leader needs to reset the expectation of communication and Handbooks need to get to the employees.  Who does that?

3. The Survey: Communication starts with asking what people need.  (SurveyMonkey works great.) Who does that?

4. The Support: Based on the survey feedback, you'll find opportunities for improvement.  Who is going to decide what gets supported?
